Vision

MS 442 will develop lifelong learners who are ready for high school and beyond with a welcoming, supportive, and innovative learning environment.

Mission

MS 442's mission is to ensure all students receive an academically rigorous, responsive, and innovative education that prepares each of them to make their mark on the world.

We achieve this mission in a multitude of ways:

  • Standards-based grading creates a more equitable learning environment by identifying student strengths and areas in need of improvement, thus allowing us to better target and personalize a student's education.

  • Periods dedicated to flexible small group instruction in Math and ELA are opportunities to address the individual learning needs of all students, helping them to meet or exceed mastery of learning outcomes.

  • Research based curriculum and project-based learning allow our students to design, develop, and collaboratively construct hands-on solutions to real-world problems.

  • Visual art, ceramics, music, and technology classes help develop creative and well-rounded students.
