MS 442 School for Innovation
VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
Students at MS 442 are singers, painters, drummers, drawers, guitar players, and more. Below are the ways in which students can hone their skills and express themselves beyond the regularly scheduled art and music classes that all students participate in.
ART PORTFOLIO CLUB: Students prepare art portfolios for high school applications.
BROADWAY JUNIOR: Actors, singers, set designers, etc. meet twice a week during the spring. Previous productions included Broadway Junior adaptations of Annie, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, Seussical, and High School Musical.
BIG APPLE CIRCUS: For twelve consecutive weeks during the winter and into spring, students practice their circus skills with trained professional performers in a safe environment. The program culminates in a performance in front of the whole school.
